You can use canned, drained and washed garbanzo beans. I like to cook my beans fresh and use some of the liquid to add to my msabaha too. For every 1 cup of cooked garbanzo beans, you will need: 1/3 cup Tahini 2 TBSP lemon juice (Personally I like closer to 3 TBSP of lemon...) 1/2 clove garlic Salt + Pepper to taste Process until creamy. Drizzle (generously) with some olive oil. Paprika, cumin, zaatar, sumac, whole garbanzo, toasted nuts WHATEVER you like for garnish. *CUMIN is popular because it fights bloating from the beans. I also would like to say, you can adjust this basic recipe to your family's liking. If you like it thicker, add more tahini. If you want it thinner, add more lemon. If you want to thin it out without adding lemon, you can add some of the garbanzo liquid from cooking to thin it out. It's so delicious. Now go make some.

I've never ate chickpeas before and I want to make this hummas to balance my diet out. My question is, does the recipe call for dried or cooked garbanzo beans? Like, if I wanted to make it fresh would I measure 1 cup dried beans, soak, cook, and use it all in the recipe or would I measure out 1 cup of cooked beans?

This is the best hummus recipe!!! I liked it with this amount of garlic and extra fresh lemon juice. SO CREAMY! This was the first recipe I made in my new food processor. I will no longer by my hummus from the store. Thank you Bushra! Keep cooking I love your channel!!

I'm making a version using jackfruit (artocarpus heterophylla) seeds instead of chick peas. As a vegetarian I like a Lebanese Christmas with felafals and tabbouleh salad. Tahini is available here but I use lime juice. You have to play around with the tahini,
